So why should we be surprised if a woman runs?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have no evidence to support my claim, but I am almost certain that the venerable Companion Nasiba bint Ka\u2019b (Umm \u2018Amara)\u2014the most famous female Companion for her prowess in battle, who participated in the Battle of Uhud and defended the Prophet \ufdfa with her sword, and witnessed the Pledge of Ridwan, the Battle of Hunayn, and the Battle of Yamama\u2014could not have accomplished all that without exceptional physical fitness. So why don\u2019t we follow the example of our role models?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday, June 12, 2026, King Hussein Park in Amman will be transformed into a space dedicated to Jordanian women\u2014whether you\u2019re a runner or a walker, a pro or a beginner, young or of any age. <a href=\"https:\/\/urkod.com\/en\/arab-world-marathons-classification\/\">Race<\/a> For Ladies, \"Run for Yourself\u201d is back for its fifth edition, and this time with a message that\u2019s clearer than ever: Women can run. In fact, I\u2019d go so far as to say: Women should run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>what is this Marathon About?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Women\u2019s Race is the largest women\u2019s sporting event in Jordan, organized by the Jordanian Marathon Association \u201cRun Jordan\u201d in collaboration with the Greater Amman Municipality and the Jordanian Athletics Federation. Female runners competing in the 5.2 km race will complete this course twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Race Day Schedule \u2013 Friday, June 12, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants will gather at 7:30 a.m., and the races will start at 9:00 a.m. All participants will receive a medal at the finish line, and prizes will be awarded to the winners at 10:30 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Important Note: Races for athletes with special needs and blind athletes will start five minutes before the official start time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>More Than Just a Marathon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What sets the 2026 edition apart is that 20% of the registration fees will be allocated to support our people in Gaza through the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization.
