What is the right speed for running?

Speed

Some people believe that running fast is better than running slowly, but this is a misconception. In this context, there are two types of exercise: aerobic and anaerobic. Anaerobic exercise is emphasized in competitive sports that require high strength and speed, such as the 100- and 200-meter sprints. A simplified explanation of both types will be provided later. However, what we need for running medium and long distances and for running as a lifestyle is aerobic exercise, which involves running at a relaxed pace and low speed—or what we call jogging. Consistently practicing this type of exercise will increase your endurance, speed, and ability to run longer distances without feeling tired over time.

How do I know how far I've gone?

There are several Apps for smartphones designed for sports activities that can track your route, the distance covered, the time it took to cover that distance or complete the activity, and the calories burned. Among the most popular of these apps are Strava, NRC, Runtastic, Endomondo, and many, many others. However, Strava may currently be the best option among these apps, given the large number of athletes using it. Download the app, add your friends, start tracking their fitness activities, and get started with your own fitness routine.

What else do you need?

You also need a bottle of water when you start running, as it’s essential to stay hydrated while running, This applies to everyone without exception—whether you’re an experienced athlete or just starting out—since exercise causes the body to lose fluids and electrolytes, some of which are replenished by drinking water. Drinking water also helps alleviate feelings of fatigue and exhaustion, especially during the summer.

Start today by jogging at a slow pace for half a kilometer, for example, and I'll soon post a specific plan for running 1,500 meters without stopping.
